Screw the insurance companies, healthcare corporations – and especially the ignorant, ill-bred flunkies who take the side of corporate wealth and privilege against the working people of America.
The only problem I have with this video is the implied assumption anyone profiting from the current situation cares about these people or about the other 40 million of their fellow citizens, getting ripped off for health insurance or having no health insurance at all.
I guess that’s the main problem with rugged independence as a national virtue. It inevitably leads to an attitude of “I’m alright, Jack. Fuck you!”.
This is overwhelmingly true when it comes to corporations consisting of doctors or insurance corporations or pharmaceutical corporations or hospital corporations.
They have absolutely no loyalty to any country on the planet, including the United States and the only citizens they serve are their own executives and their own shareholders.
Will North Americans never understand this, I wonder?
The people who made this video seem to think poor, unorganized voters can make some sort of difference. Sadly, I don’t think so.
Obama, on the other hand, could make a difference, even if he has to do it all by himself. I wonder if he will?
These days I do keep thinking, fondly, about Oliver Cromwell.
Too complicated message for the average Republican. Need to dumb it down a little.
