No, I’m not quite sure why I’m blogging this. Hell, why do I blog every dead chess player I can find?

No.. wait.. I know why I blog the dead chess players.

Here’s a piece from the New York Times: Art Linkletter

  1. Chess players are more interesting. Dead or alive.

  2. Why was he so popular? because he was a gentleman, soft spoken, no language except that of the English language which I might add he spoke very well. In those days he was speaking to children who were brought up, not dragged up. If he were interviewing children today he would get eyes that are coal black, dressed like tarts and no vocabulary, and horrid old people faces with frowns because they spend more time wrinkling foreheads demanding than actually being children. ( no such thing anymore ).

  3. He certainly seemed to be a very nice guy, and while he had a long life, it is still sad to see the good ones go.
