Born deaf. Hearing for the first time.

I was born deaf and 8 weeks ago I received a hearing implant. This is the video of them turning it on and me hearing myself for the first time

I have a deaf niece for whom I obtained a cochlear implant. I was there the day it was turned on but you know what was even more radical? The day she first realized that her hands could talk. Until that day she was a four-year-old with no language. Her eyes. Nothing in my life compares to the change that moment made for her.
