Teen burglars turn themselves in – tip coppers about kiddie pr0n

A central California man has been arrested for possession of child pornography, thanks to a tip from burglars who robbed the man’s property…
Last month, a juvenile and a 19-year-old illegally accessed the property of Kraig Stockard, 54, of Delhi, California, according to a statement from Deputy Tom MacKenzie of the Merced County Sheriff’s Department. They broke into Stockard’s barn and stole approximately 50 CDs they believed were blank…
…When they began putting the discs into their computer, they discovered that some of them contained pornographic images of children, the statement said. Despite having obtained the CDs under decidedly shady circumstances, the pair decided to report Stockard to the police.
A search warrant was served and three more computers and three laptops were taken from Stockard’s home, along with several external hard drives. Police said there were thousands of pictures and movies on the CDs — more than 30 of the 50 discs had child pornography on them…
The two burglar suspects who reported Stockard have not been arrested.
Their case has been sent to the Merced County District Attorney’s Office for review. When reached for comment, a press officer told CNN the office could not comment on the case because one of the informants in question is a juvenile.
Local authorities have made it pretty clear the burglars won’t be prosecuted. Their info led to an arrest for child porn. On balance, they did folks more good than harm. This time.
Child suspected in white supremacist death – his daddy!

RIVERSIDE, CA – A white supremacist who ran for a Riverside water board last year was shot to death inside his home early Sunday, and his young son is suspected of the killing, police said.
Officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 5400 block of Lauder Court at 4:04 a.m., a Riverside police news release stated. They found Jeff Hall, 32, inside the home with a single gunshot wound. Police did not say where the bullet struck him…
Police were investigating whether the shooting was intentional or accidental, said Lt. Ed Blevins, manager of the Investigations Bureau. He said two handguns were recovered from the home.
Hall had been identified as the regional director for the National Socialist Movement, which promotes white separatism on its website.
Hall’s wife and five children were in the home at the time of the shooting, Blevins said by phone Sunday evening. He did not release any information about the child suspected in the shooting. Child Protective Services were called, he said, but he wasn’t sure if they had taken the other young children.
Police said they were not looking for additional suspects…
Several residents in the neighborhood overlooking UC Riverside said they were still shaken from the early-morning shooting. Some refused to talk about it, while others weren’t sure how to react after months of what they described as intimidation by Hall and other National Socialist Movement members who often visited.
“Honestly, I feel like it’s over,” said Juan Trejo, who lives across the street from Hall’s home. “It was scary here. Hopefully we’ll never see any of them again.”
Trejo described a Halloween party at the home last year, when Hall flew a swastika flag from the home and guests wore KKK hoods…Trejo said in the two years they lived there, he had never spoken to Hall, his wife, or several children, whom he described as all younger than about 12.
“I never tried to even say hello because they are racist,” he said.
Isn’t there something about acorns not falling very far from the tree?
Florida 911 caller says toddler shot and killed his mom

Police found a woman fatally shot in her Miramar apartment Wednesday evening, after receiving a 911 call in which someone said the woman’s toddler son somehow pulled the trigger.
Officers were interviewing a man who may know what happened, said Tania Rues, Miramar police spokeswoman.
Police would not identify the shooting victim until family members were notified. They also would not say what type of gun was fired.
Neighbors said at about 7 p.m. they heard one gunshot in an apartment in the Ashlar complex in the 8200 block of Sherman Circle North. Several Miramar police officers were already in the apartment complex when the shot rang out, searching for a missing 6-year-old who was quickly found unharmed, witnesses said. When the shot was fired, officers ran to the victim’s apartment and kicked in the door, said Abel Hernandez, 19, who lives in an adjacent building in the complex.
“The police brought out a small boy wearing a striped shirt and shorts,” Hernandez said.
Rues said the child, who was not injured, did not appear to understand what had happened. Police were trying to locate family members who could take custody of the child.
Yup. Let’s keep all our guns handy for whenever someone needs one.
Vegan couple manages to kill their child with malnutrition

Two vegans whose 11-month-old baby daughter died from vitamin deficiency after drinking only its mother’s milk have gone on trial in northern France, charged with child neglect.
Sergipe and Joel Le Moaligou, who eat no animal products, called the emergency services in March, 2008, when their baby Louise appeared listless.
By the time the ambulance arrived at their home in Saint-Maulvis, north of Paris, she was already dead.
Louise weighed just 12lb, compared to an average 17.5lb for a child her age, and was deathly pale.
An autopsy showed that Louise was suffering from a vitamin A and B12 deficiency, which experts say increases a child’s sensitivity to infections
French prosecutors allege the vitamin deficiency may have been linked to the mother’s diet, and say that the couple also failed to follow medical advice to hospitalise the baby, who was suffering from bronchitis…
“They preferred applying clay or cabbage poultices whose recipes they found in their books. These are people who read the wrong thing at the wrong time,” said Mr Daquo.
The parents are still vegan and “are completely aware of the mistake they made,” said the father’s lawyer, Patrick Quenel. If convicted, the couple could face up to 30 years in prison.
Religious nutballs commit this sort of stupidity upon their families all the time. Because this particular couples’ motivation was the “purity” of the nutritional program they chose doesn’t excuse the death of their child.
Desperate ‘walk of shame’ revealed as publicity stunt

Xie Sanxiu, a poor migrant textile worker, was showered with money and sympathy after internet users heard how she had been forced to withdraw her daughter from Guangzhou Children’s Hospital because of a lack of funds.
The case became an online cause célèbre after a chat room user calling himself “Rich Son of Guangzhou” taunted the desperate mother, offering to pay her money for her daughter’s treatment for retinoblastoma, a form of eye-cancer, if she would humiliate herself…
“If you can kneel and crawl on the road for a thousand metres, I will immediately give you 20,000 yuan.”
Mrs Xie performed the shaming walk, with her sick child wrapped in a blanket in her arms, telling local journalists: “Regardless of wind or rain, I must go. As long as I can save my baby, I’m willing to do anything. I hope ‘Rich Son of Guangzhou’ you will honour your promise…”
Sympathy turned to anger, however, after investigations showed that “Rich Son of Guangzhou” didn’t really exist, but was an alias of Shi Jinquan, a content moderator for Tianya.cn, one of China’s best-known discussion forums that had hosted the original plea for help from Mrs Xie.
Mr Shi was fired from his job for the subterfuge, after it emerged that he had coached Mrs Xie in how to reply to questions from media and public, and even advised her to start her ‘walk’ from outside the offices of the leading local newspaper.
The story has sparked an ethical debate in China about whether the online moderator’s noble ends justified his duplicitous means, but Mr Shi remained unrepentant. “You can say the means were not noble and people are angry, but I’m only trying to help,” he told state broadcaster China Central Television.
Mrs Xie said that she had gone along with the plan out of desperation after managing to raise just 400 yuan (£38) after months of begging for online donations…”I’m not a great mother, as the media reported. I’m just a poor mother, a mother who told lies. I was just trying to save my daughter.
The public reaction veered from anger at the deception, to equal anger that a mother should be driven to such lengths to get treatment for her child.
Most recent reports from China describe continued and growing support for Mrs. Xie – and contempt for Shi.
I think he should come to the West and get a job on Fleet Street or Madison Avenue. Lying, misleading is an honorable profession among the dishonorable.
Three-year-old shoots himself and his baby sister – WTF?

A nation full of 2nd Amendment children
A 3-year-old boy and his 1-year-old sister remained hospitalized Wednesday after he accidentally fired a pistol in their Macon, Ga., home, police say.
Sgt. Sean Defoe with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said Gary Davis, 30, and Lashonda Hopkins, 25, were in the bedroom Tuesday evening while their toddlers were in the living room unattended, Macon’s WMAZ-TV reported.
The boy allegedly climbed onto a shelf and grabbed a loaded .22-caliber handgun that accidentally discharged while he was examining it. The bullet nicked both the boy’s thumb and his sister’s knee, police said.
The children were taken to a hospital where they were reported in stable condition.
No charges have been filed, yet. I would suggest Criminal Stupidity. For the parents.
I have guns in my home. At least one of them is loaded. No children.
Still, none of them are easily accessible to someone casually or even inquisitively wandering around the house. Because sometimes we have guests which includes the younger set.
The safety is always on. No round in the chamber.
Oops! of the day

What’s next?
Florida police are trying to figure out how a 5-year-old boy came into possession of a loaded handgun that he dropped inside a pre-kindergarten class.
A female pre-kindergarten teacher at Moseley Elementary School in Palatka was giving a music lesson Tuesday morning when she noticed the small, .22-caliber handgun fall out of the boy’s pocket, Assistant Police Chief James Griffith said.
The firearm did not go off, and no one was hurt.
But the boy, along with the gun, were promptly brought to school administrators. They alerted school security and police at 9:25 a.m., having determined that there was no immediate danger to the school, which is in Palatka in northeastern Florida.
“The boy is both initially a suspect in this thing, but also a victim,” said Griffith. “This is very rare.”
The boy told authorities that he found the firearm inside the vehicle that he had come to school in — one which Griffith said belonged to the youngster’s stepfather. Neither the boy nor stepfather have been named, the assistant chief said, in order to protect the identity of the child, who is a minor…
“There was nothing that transpired, as far as threats, showing the weapon off, anything like that,” Griffith said. “At this point, we are trying to determine where the child got the gun from, and if any adult was negligent in allowing him to gain access (to it).”
Phew! Folks are lucky he didn’t accidentally fire the gun, showing it off or something like that.
Depending on whether or not it was a well-made piece, they’re all lucky that a handgun like this – with rimfire cartridges – didn’t fire when it hit the floor.
Tucson Six: young and old, public servants and citizens

The dead victims of the Tuscon shooting attack represented a range of people that might be found at any congressional constituents’ event.
They included a 9-year-old girl just elected to her school council who wanted to see a real politician close up; a federal judge who happened to be nearby and stopped to see his friend the congresswoman; a congressional aide responsible for community outreach, and several senior citizens, representative of the demographic of the nation’s most active voters.
Of all the tragedies, the death of 9-year-old Christina Taylor Green seemed to cut the deepest, as children’s deaths invariably do.
The grade-schooler was recently elected president of the student council at the Mesa Verde Elementary School…
Her grief-stricken father, John Green, a scout for the Los Angeles Dodgers, told an interviewer through a voice that broke at times:
“She was born on 9/11. So she came in on a tragedy and she went out on a tragedy. Those nine years in between were very special. We’re all going to miss Christina. We were four people. Now we’re three. All I can say is we’re going to be strong for each other. And we’re going to honor Christina because she was a beautiful strong little girl. And we’re going to remember all the good things about her…”
Also killed was U.S. District Judge John McCarthy Roll, 63…
Gabe Zimmerman, 30, was Giffords’ director of community outreach. He was a former social worker who was engaged to be married…
The three additional victims were retirees: Phyllis Schneck, 79; Dorwan Stoddard, 76, and Dorothy Morris, 76.
Dory Stoddard was a retired construction worker who threw himself across his wife to protect her. She was shot in the legs three times.
I haven’t more details to add at this time. RTFA for most of what’s available, now.
Half these people were my peers, elderly, retired after a working life. There were no corporate lobbyists. There were no TV-star populist pimps. There were no talk radio millionaires or preachers with palatial pulpits.
Just folks who live on social security checks and medicare. Those “socialist” plots that undermine the freedom to be a murdering gun-thug.
3-year-old says, “there’s something in my shoe…”

After a 3-year-old Boston girl complained that her foot hurt, her preschool teacher took off her sneaker and made a startling find: 17 small plastic bags containing crack cocaine.
Police say teachers at the Walnut Grove preschool were adjusting the girl’s sneaker Monday when they found the individually wrapped bags of crack inside a larger plastic bag.
The teachers told police the girl said her mother had put “candy” inside her sneaker. “Where’s my shoe? Mommy’s going to be mad at me,” the girl allegedly told an assistant teacher, according to police.
But the girl’s mother told police she knew nothing about the drugs.
Demare Gary, 19, of Boston, the mother’s boyfriend, was arrested after he allegedly told police the crack was his. Officer Eddy Chrispin said Gary told police he put the crack inside the girl’s sneaker the night before and forgot about it.
The mother was not arrested, but police said the investigation is continuing.
Ain’t nothing like a caring family. At least, not this one.
I hope the wee ‘un survives her childhood.
Dad puts son in freezer because the floor was too dirty! WTF?

A Chandler man reportedly high on meth put his young toddler son in the freezer for several minutes while he fixed himself a meal, police said.
Chance Kracke told Chandler police he was on methamphetamine when he placed his 7-month-old son in freezer drawer as he prepared a meal at his apartment in the 600 block of East Commonwealth Avenue, said Sgt. Joe Favazzo, a police spokesman.
Kracke told police he placed his son in the freezer because the “kitchen floor was too dirty” and let him out after two or three minutes because the baby began crying. The child was fine, except for a cut and lump on the boy’s forehead, possibly from the freezer door, Favazzo said…
When police spoke with Chance and Leann Kracke, they admitted to smoking meth over the past month and a half, police said…
On Aug. 18, police searched the Krache’s home and were met with a “strong odor of feces and urine” and cockroaches “in the hundreds,” according to the statement…”Overall, the apartment was filthy with trash, dismantled electronics, sharp objects and alcohol within reach of the children.”
“X-rays showed the 19-month-old ingested a screw that was expected to pass,” according to the statement. Chance Kracke admitted to having anger issues and that he squeezed his son’s stomach one time because he wouldn’t stop crying, police said.
Chance Kracke was arrested on suspicion of four counts of child abuse, two counts of possession of paraphernalia, and one count of animal cruelty for kicking the dog.
Leann Kracke was arrested on suspicion of two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of child abuse.
Throw the key away. Please! Don’t let them near children or dogs.
