I almost forgot to post this, this year. Best Jingle Bells ever.

Happened to hear this, this morning, on one of our local country[ish] radio stations. Hadn’t heard it in a spell.

Woody’s son, Arlo, still has one of Woody’s guitars that says “This machine kills fascists” – which is about the best thing about the kind of music I sang and played back in the day. Woody was an inspiration to us all.

So, if you have a friend who is a modern-day Christian American Republican, play this song for them and ask whether or not this kind of Christianity is too old-fashioned for them?

Yes, we originally posted this the wrong time of the year; but, I just noticed it’s catching lots of views.

I like how much fun this Jingle Bells is. And this time – it’s appropriate.

Yes, I know this is the wrong time of the year; but, I just bumped into this – posted at another site by someone who also knows it’s not Giftmas time. He just likes how much fun this Jingle Bells is.

The season of turkey, goodwill and consumerism might seem to be a long way off yet, but a December performance of “Nine Lessons and Carols for Godless People” that includes a turn by Richard Dawkins and the Guardian’s own Ben Goldacre has already sold out.

Have no fear though, the Bloomsbury Theatre in London, which is hosting the event on December 19, has now added another date on December 18 – but hurry up, tickets go on sale today and are expected to sell out fast.

The show is a spin-off of comedian Robin Ince’s regular show The School for Gifted Children and is being produced with the help of the folks at the New Humanist magazine. It is billed as, “a night of music and comedy to celebrate the rational and scientific and debunk Winterval myths spouted by religious and media ninnies.”

They’re featuring one musical group I haven’t been able to download [yet] from iTunes: the Martin White mini fax machine orchestra.
