Police officer caught using social security number of a 7-yr-old

No one was curious about someone born in 2004 wanting to buy one of these?
A Milwaukee police officer has been charged with stealing a 7-year-old Racine boy’s Social Security number to make purchases including a high-end Mercedes-Benz, according to a criminal complaint.
Lymon L. Taylor, 33, is charged with felony identity theft in Waukesha County. If convicted, he faces up to six years in prison…
According to the criminal complaint, Milwaukee detectives were investigating identity theft by another man, Lee Ellis, who led them to Taylor…
Ellis told detectives he and Taylor discussed how to improve their credit ratings and found a company in California that promised to fix credit for $2,500 a person, according to the complaint.
The two men plus a third, who has not been charged, received what looked like Social Security numbers, the complaint says. They were told to use their own name and the new numbers as their Social Security number. They also were told to use an address other than their own because addresses are associated with a person’s credit rating, which in their cases were bad, according to the criminal complaint…
Taylor, who previously had purchased six vehicles with his true Social Security number, used the fraudulently obtained number to buy a 2007 Mercedes-Benz S550 from Ernie Von Schledorn in Menomonee Falls in June, according to the complaint, which cites special agent Michael Clemens of the Social Security Administration’s Office of the Inspector General…
The Social Security number Taylor used actually belongs to a boy in Racine.
Detective Charles Shepard…contacted the boy’s father, who said he wanted whoever was using the number to be prosecuted…
Shepard interviewed employees at the car dealership and A-B Credit Union, which authorized the loan, asking how someone could buy an expensive car with no credit history.
A fresh Social Security number would bring a high credit score, according to the credit union. That credit score coupled with a good job would be good enough to buy such a car, they said.
The music goes round and round and it comes out here. Someday, somewhere, there will be a police department that checks up on the boys in blue on the street. That coppers often think they are above the law – doesn’t help, either.
Phony lawyer, phony notary, forger – and also a pimp!

The website advertising legal services from Thomas J. Lyon & Associates boasts about Lyon’s victories for clients. “We win cases all the time,” the site says. “It’s what we do…”
But Lyon is not an attorney. He’s been using another person’s Wisconsin Bar license number, that of attorney Thomas J. Lyons who has a practice in St. Paul, Minn., according to a criminal complaint. Lyon also has used the notary stamp of a dead notary public and forged the signature of court officials, the complaint says.
Prosecutors on Friday charged Lyon with practicing law without a license, theft, forgery and related charges tied to Lyon’s legal practice…
The receptionist also said she was one of several prostitutes working for the escort service “Lacuna Limited” that Lyon had set up in Milwaukee. She told an investigator that she helped to recruit new prostitutes for the escort service…
A probation agent told a detective with the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office that Lyon is on probation after convictions of grand larceny, stalking and false imprisonment in New York. Lyon’s probation was transferred to Wisconsin, the probation officer told the detective…
The system is better now that it has some checks, he said. But the Minnesota Lyons, the real Lyons said he was amused that the coincidence of the similar names allowed someone to trick court officials.
I don’t think it’s especially amusing that the court officials and everyone from local business folks to the police department never noticed [a] this clown wasn’t a real lawyer and [b] he was fronting a string of hookers.
Doesn’t sound like a surplus of integrity in Milwaukee.
World Porridge Day cook-off won by a Yank!

Mathew raises high the Golden Spurtle
An American has scooped this year’s prize for the world’s best porridge.
Mathew Cox, from Milwaukie, Oregon in the US, has won this year’s Golden Spurtle award at the World Porridge Championships in Invernessshire.
The 2008 champion, Ian Bishop, made it to the final cook off in Carrbridge but was beaten by the American.
Mr Cox said: “We came over here to celebrate our passion for porridge with the Scots and we are just elated to win the world title…”
The competition coincided with the first World Porridge Day, organised by Argyll-based charity May’s Meals, held in aid of hungry children in developing countries.
There were also events in the US, France, Malawi, Bosnia and Sweden.
Being part of a family that starts every day of the year off with porridge oats – that includes our dogs having their share – I’m certainly pleased to learn there is an official World Porridge Day, now.
