World of Warcraft is going to the pandas

The most violent panda we have ever posted
Game developer Blizzard has revealed the fourth expansion pack for “World of Warcraft” — an expansion that will let people play the massively popular online game as a race of giant humanoid pandas known as the Pandaren.
Blizzard unveiled the forthcoming “Mists of Pandaria” expansion Friday at its annual BlizzCon convention in California. And no, this is not a joke…
“Mists of Pandaria” will introduce the continent of Pandaria to “WoW” — a place inspired by real-world Asia, home of the real-world pandas — as well as a new martial-arts-focused Monk class.
Uh, OK.

Panda-monium warning sign in Flagstaff, Arizona

A wave of “panda-monium” has swept through a northern Arizona city thanks to a mischievous street sign hacker who warned motorists of a “ROGUE PANDA ON RAMPAGE.”
State transportation officials said Tuesday that a person was able to post the hoax warning by hacking into an electronic message board in Flagstaff, Arizona, over the weekend.
Rest easy, though. Authorities said the city is safe from pandas, if not from jokesters.
Officials said the message board alerting drivers to street improvements near a busy city intersection was probably altered late on Sunday or early on Monday. It was fixed by 11 a.m. local time on Monday.
“Someone had to know what they were doing to go in and change the message,” said Mackenzie Kirby, an Arizona Department of Transportation spokeswoman. “It’s not easy.”
Kirby joked that there had been no sightings of any rogue pandas in the community, but she has been sent several photoshopped images via email of the cuddly creatures tooled up for trouble.
You can never too careful, eh? Obviously Arizona’s governor must call for increasing border security with Sichuan.

What do Pandas eat when they don’t feel like going out?
Probably should have had someone bring takeout home.

I like to think that historians centuries from now will look back and take fond note of all of my panda posts.
It’s a panda! It’s a cow! It’s a panda cow!

A rare miniature cow with markings similar to a panda bear was born on a farm in northern Colorado.
The so-called “panda cow” born in Larimer County is thought to be one of only about 24 in the world.
The (Loveland) Reporter-Herald reports the male calf named Ben was born Friday morning. His mother is a Lowline Angus cow…
The miniature panda cow is the result of genetic manipulation. A white belt encircles the animal’s midsection, and the cow has a white face with black ovals around the eyes, giving it a panda-like appearance.
The mini-cattle are bred solely as pets. Farmer Chris Jessen says panda calves can sell for $30,000.
Well, it’s almost a panda – sort of.
