  1. Update says:

“The Department of Defense said on Friday that planning has gotten underway for a military parade in the nation’s capital, ordered by President Trump after he was invited to a 2017 Bastille Day celebration by French President Emmanuel Macron, but the event is yet to be assigned a budget, according to a report.” https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/pentagon-grudgingly-begins-planning-for-trumps-military-parade-report “A Pentagon official told NBC News the lack of urgency could be attributed to widespread reticence regarding the parade. “There is only one person who wants this parade,” a senior U.S. official told NBC, referring to Trump.”
The parade could cost $10 million to $30 million, according to White House budget chief Mick Mulvaney last February.”

  2. Rentatenttent says:

President Donald Trump’s military parade in Washington DC is likely to cost nearly as much as the now canceled military exercise with South Korea that Trump called “tremendously expensive” and said cost “a fortune,” three US defense officials tell CNN. https://www.cnn.com/2018/07/18/politics/trump-military-parade-cost/index.html
The parade, which is now scheduled to take place on November 10, is currently estimated to cost approximately $12 million, the officials said. One official called the number “a planning figure,” saying cost estimates could still change as planning develops.
According to a Pentagon spokesman “The intent for the parade” is to coincide with the 100th anniversary of World War I. The war ended on November 11, 1918 and France’s President Emmanuel Macron plans to host world leaders for a parade marking the centenary of the war’s end.
    …dueling parades anyone?
