  1. Flâneur says:

During an interview with “Fox News Sunday,” CIA Director Mike Pompeo fired back at a controversial new book, Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, which claimed a top Trump adviser said the president “won’t read anything.”
Pompeo said that’s not true. “This president reads material that we provide to him, he listens closely to his daily briefing,” he said. “This president is an avid consumer of the work product that our team at the CIA produces and we do our best to convey that to him nearly every day.”

  2. Covfefe says:

“Breaking with tradition, Trump skips president’s written intelligence report and relies on oral briefings” (Washington Post 2/9/18) https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/breaking-with-tradition-trump-skips-presidents-written-intelligence-report-for-oral-briefings/2018/02/09/b7ba569e-0c52-11e8-95a5-c396801049ef_story.html?utm_term=.ef9379e3d112 “Reading the traditionally dense intelligence book is not Trump’s preferred “style of learning,” according to a person with knowledge of the situation. The arrangement underscores Trump’s impatience with exhaustive classified documents that go to the commander in chief — material that he has said he prefers condensed as much as possible. But by not reading the daily briefing, the president could hamper his ability to respond to crises in the most effective manner, intelligence experts warned.”
