Trump displays his racism to the whole world

❝ Donald Trump described El Salvador, Haiti and certain African nations, as “shithole” countries during a meeting with lawmakers on Thursday…

“Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?” Trump said, after being presented with a proposal to restore protections for immigrants from those countries as part of a bipartisan immigration deal, the Washington Post reported, citing aides briefed on the meeting.

❝ The president demanded to know why the US would accept immigrants from these countries rather than places like Norway, whose prime minister he had met with the day before.

Yes, fools and bigots who rush to our Fake President’s defense are as racist as he. Denial is as meaningless as their false professions of loyalty to our Constitution. The chumps who elected this thug can share out the guilt – hoping to diminish and dilute the shame which illustrates that contemptible ailment so profoundly American.

There is a singular standard for judging political candidates for government in 2018 and 2020. Before any other issue, before we may evaluate economics and platforms, those who would contest for elected office must answer the cardinal question of American history: Will you support equal opportunity and equal rights for all citizens of this nation? Will you fight for those rights?

We know Trump’s answer. Over the next few days we’ll see and hear which side politicians and public figures choose to support.

A sugar syrup in your ice cream may cause thousands of deaths/year

❝ In the early 2000s, a deadly gut infection began to surge. After decades of lurking in intestines and hospitals—more opportunistic nuisance than lethal threat—the bacterium Clostridium difficile abruptly exploded, spreading rapidly and causing more severe diarrheal disease than ever before. By 2011, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimated that C. diff infected nearly half a million people in the US that year, killing approximately 29,000…

❝ There was another, cryptic factor at play, it seemed…With a study published in Nature recently, scientists think they’ve finally figured out what that enigmatic element was — and it’s even more obscure than anyone may have guessed. It wasn’t some new weapon the bacteria acquired or a waning antibiotic. It was a boring, harmless sugar — one often found in ice creams…

Nice piece of scientific research for a starter. Nothing answers all the questions – yet. But, so far, it seems clear the sugar trahalose has helped the bad guys along.
