“Could Rudy Giuliani be doing it right?” (CBS News commentary 5/7/18) https://www.cbsnews.com/news/commentary-could-rudy-giuliani-be-doing-it-right/ “A new Reuters/Ipsos poll has President Trump’s approval rating at 48 percent [1]. The folks at Reuters were so surprised they posted a disclaimer on their own poll, calling it an outlier. Is it?
Not as much as you’d think. Republican-leaning Rasmussen [2] has it at 51 percent, but more significantly the overall RealClearPolitics average has the president’s approval up to 44.4 percent [3]. To put that in perspective, on December 15th Trump was at 37 percent approval/58 percent disapproval—a jaw-dropping 21 points underwater.
Since then, he numbers have steadily risen, and in the past two weeks or so they’ve surged.
And what else happened those past two weeks? Non-stop Stormy Daniels/RussiaGate/Mueller media coverage, capped by the return of Rudy Giuliani’s high-profile pratfall onto the political stage.”

President Donald Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani said Friday he won’t debate Michael Avenatti because he doesn’t keep company with “pimps.” https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-michael-cohen-rudy-guiliani-escalates-battle-with-michael-avenatti-2018-5
Giuliani made the slur about the attorney to porn star Stormy Daniels during a sweeping interview with Business Insider, responding to Avenatti’s request earlier this week to have an on-air discussion about his client’s defamation suit against President Trump.
Giuliani also told Business Insider that the president may have been told about allegations of sexual misconduct against disgraced former New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman because of the case Schneiderman was pursuing against Trump’s now-defunct education venture, Trump University.
Earlier Friday, attorney Peter Gleason claimed in a court filing that Trump and his longtime lawyer Michael Cohen were made aware of such allegations from two women in 2013.
In a letter to US District Court Judge Kimba Wood — the judge presiding over the criminal investigation into Cohen — Gleason requested a protective order on any records seized in the FBI’s raids of Cohen’s properties last month that had to do with Gleason’s discussions with Cohen about those two women. http://www.businessinsider.com/rudy-giuliani-cohen-trump-told-about-eric-schneiderman-allegations-2018-5

“Rudy Giuliani admits ‘Spygate’ is Trump PR tactic against Robert Mueller : President’s lawyer gives meandering CNN interview – ‘It’s for public opinion’, he says of claims of campaign informant” https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/may/27/rudy-giuliani-spygate-robert-mueller-donald-trump “It is for public opinion,” Giuliani said of his public campaign of dissimulation. “Because eventually the decision here is going to be impeach or not impeach. Members of Congress, Democrats and Republicans, are going to be informed a lot by their constituents. And so our jury – and it should be – is the American people.

Giuliani on shifting Trump Tower story: ‘It was a mistake. I swear to God.’ https://www.cnn.com/2018/06/04/politics/rudy-giuliani-trump-tower-cnntv/index.html
“If I were President of the United States and I had a lawyer that told me I could pardon myself, I think I would hire a new lawyer,” Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, an Iowa Republican, suggested Monday when asked if he agrees that President Donald Trump could pardon himself. https://www.cnn.com/2018/06/04/politics/chuck-grassley-rudy-giuliani-pardon/index.html

  5. Pedant says:

Rudy Giuliani on His Odd Cable News Blitz: I Was Trying to Kill a New York Times Story. It is not even clear if the Times story, as laid out by President Trump’s attorney, even exists. “Black’s Law Dictionary defines collusion as “a deceitful agreement or compact between two or more persons, for the one party to bring an action against the other for some evil purpose, as to defraud a third party…” A conspiracy, on the other hand, is defined as “a combination or confederacy between two or more persons formed for the purposes of committing, by their joint efforts, some unlawful or criminal act, or some act which is innocent in itself, but becomes unlawful when done by the concerted action of the conspirators.” Got it? You can have collusion without having a criminal conspiracy, but you can’t have a criminal conspiracy without some sort of collusion.” https://www.esquire.com/news-politics/news/a56338/trump-collusion-conspiracy/
