“Trump may pardon Oregon ranchers whose prison time sparked Malheur occupation” http://www.idahostatesman.com/news/northwest/article212661814.html “The father and son were convicted of arson in 2012 for lighting fires on federal land.
U.S. District Judge Michael Hogan sentenced the father, Dwight, to three months in federal prison. Steven received a sentence of one year and a day.
Both sentences were less than the mandatory five-year minimum for an arson conviction. The government appealed in 2015 and won.
The judge in January 2016 ordered the Hammonds to return to prison and complete the remaining time of their five-year minimum sentences. Upset over the ruling, Ammon Bundy of Emmett extended an existing protest in support of the Hammonds in Burns, leading militia members to the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge and occupying it for about a month.”

“Trump says he may pardon Muhammad Ali, who does not need a pardon” https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-muhammadi-ali-pardon-consideration-today-does-boxer-need-one/ Mr. Trump tells reporters he’s looking at “thousands of names” of people who could be granted clemency. “I’m thinking about Muhammad Ali,” Mr. Trump told reporters when asked about future pardons.
The U.S Supreme Court overturned the conviction of Muhammad Ali in a unanimous decision in 1971 (Ali would also be covered by President Carter’s 1977 amnesty for Americans who avoided military service during the Vietnam War). if Mr. Trump does pardon Ali, it would be the first posthumous pardon for a conviction that has already been overturned.
