“…the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.”

Planning documents obtained by Newsweek from two Defense Department officials reveal the U.S. intelligence community assessed that the “most likely course of action” is a dwindling of the number of migrants as their caravan reaches the U.S. southern border, with limited transcontinental criminal organizations exploiting the group and “no terrorist infiltration,” an assessment that runs counter to past statements made by the president. “While the Defense Department has yet to reveal costs associated with deploying thousands of U.S. troops to the southwest border, a Pentagon official familiar with the details of the deployment told Newsweek that initial values could start within the $50 million range.
Adam Isacson, director for Defense Oversight at research and advocacy group the Washington Office on Latin America (WOLA), has warned that costs for the deployment could cost as much as a million dollars per day.”

  3. Update says:

(Nov 13, 2018): Leaders of the Central American Exodus, or migrant caravan, wrote in a Tuesday morning communique that after being initially well-received at the Benito Juarez auditorium in Guadalajara “with food and water,” they were told by the Jalisco state government they had to “abandon the city (because) they didn’t have enough resources” to help the group seeking asylum in the United States.
The 5,000 people, many who are women and children, have now been traveling for a month after leaving San Pedro Sula, Honduras on Oct. 12 to escape grinding poverty, violence, and lack of food access due to climate change. Three other groups have left Guatemala and El Salvador since then. A fifth group is set to leave El Salvador by Nov. 18, according to sources.” https://www.telesurenglish.net/news/Migrant-Exodus-Rejected-by-Jalisco-Govt-Stranded-in-Mexico-20181113-0018.html
