“They killed my mom & six brothers.” Trump replies, “Where are they now?”

That’s not a non sequitur. That’s a fake president paying absolutely NO ATTENTION to the woman trying to describe the pain and violence in her life.

From the MOTLEY NEWS blog down the road a piece from here – in Albuquerque:

❝ This video has brought forth so many feelings that I really am unable to express myself fully. The strongest feeling of all, though, is a complete and total sickness to my stomach. I want to scream so loud that the entire world would hear me. I want to cry so sorrowfully that my tears would fill the ocean. This is, in my opinion, one of the saddest moments in presidential history – and there have been many since trump took office. trump’s complete lack of empathy – total, 100% apathy – is completely visible in the matter of 15-20 seconds.

trump cares naught for this woman, Nadia Murad, who is pleading her case to him. And I’m quite sure he does not care for anything any of the other women in his office are there to present to him.

Imagine if you were Nadia. And, honestly, you could be a man instead of a woman. It doesn’t matter. It is completely clear that the only thing on trump’s mind is getting this interview over.

Only you in the future will know if we saved glaciers

Rice University

❝ The first of Iceland’s 400 glaciers to be lost to the climate crisis will be remembered with a memorial plaque – and a sombre warning for the future – to be unveiled by scientists and local people next month.

❝ The former Okjökull glacier, which a century ago covered 15 sq km (5.8 sq miles) of mountainside in western Iceland and measured 50 metres thick, has shrunk to barely 1 sq km of ice less than 15 metres deep and lost its status as a glacier.

❝ “In the next 200 years, all our glaciers are expected to follow the same path,” the plaque reads, in Icelandic and English. “This monument is to acknowledge that we know what is happening and what needs to be done. Only you know if we did it.”…

❝ Cymene Howe, an associate professor of anthropology at Rice, said the plaque “would be the first to a glacier lost to climate change anywhere in the world”. Marking the moment should draw attention to what is being lost, she said.

Notice will be taken – and understood – by that small number of human beings who comprehend what is happening. And that even smaller number of politicians who care.

Fake President decides we need to revise citizenship test

Wilfredo Lee/AP

❝ The Trump administration is planning changes to the U.S. citizenship test. The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services says it is revising the test to ensure that “it continues to serve as an accurate measure of a naturalization applicant’s civics knowledge.”…

❝ Since assuming office, President Trump has attempted to implement broad changes to U.S. immigration laws and policies. Last week, the Trump administration announced a new rule requiring asylum-seekers to first apply for asylum in at least one country they pass through on their journey to the U.S.

…Trump [also has] announced he “would sign an executive order to obtain data about the U.S. citizenship and noncitizenship status of everyone living in the United States.”

When the GOP pimps for Trump complete the details of his “updated” test, you know damned well who should be the first person they try it out on. The Fake President himself.
