Trump’s tweets = usual senseless blather

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) panned President Trump’s decision to withdraw the U.S. from the World Health Organization (WHO), calling the move “senseless.”…

“This senseless action will have significant, harmful repercussions now and far beyond this perilous moment, particularly as the WHO is leading worldwide vaccine development and drug trials to combat the pandemic,” The American Medical Association said in a statement.

COVID-19 affects us all and does not respect borders; defeating it requires the entire world working together,” the statement said.

Trump’s incompetence, continually followed by foaming at the mouth while he tries to blame someone, anyone, else for his stupidity, should be the most obvious reason for any honest voter to reject his re-election this coming autumn.

  1. Curiouser and curiouser says:

“President Trump’s announcement on May 29 that the United States would end cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO) in the midst of a global coronavirus pandemic has not resulted in any formal action, and American institutions are still engaged in longstanding relationships with the Geneva-based international agency.” (The Hill 6/11/20)
“Trump’s decision to leave WHO came with bluster, but no action so far : for example, the Trump administration has “not paid outstanding financial obligations to the WHO, a step that would be required before the United States could pull out under a joint resolution signed by Congress,” (STAT 6/11/20)
“Exclusive: The Secret Plan to Unwithdraw From the WHO After Trump’s “Bizarre,” “Ruinous” Exit : Documents show that health officials have spent weeks scrambling to salvage the relationship—along with global programs to combat everything from polio to Ebola.” (Vanity Fair June 8, 2020)

  2. WTF? says:

“President Donald Trump suggested in a new interview that some Americans may be wearing masks not to prevent the spread of Covid-19 but to spite him — and that testing for the deadly coronavirus is “overrated.”
“That bewildering pair of comments, delivered during his wide-ranging Wall Street Journal interview that covered everything from Trump’s upcoming campaign rally on Juneteenth to newly reported details from former National Security Adviser John Bolton’s upcoming book, managed to both needlessly politicize basic health precautions and dismiss the importance of surveilling through testing a disease that has killed at least 118,000 Americans.
Trump said explicitly that, even if there is a worrying reemergence of the virus, he would not pursue the kind of dramatic increase in testing that China did when it tested an entire city after the coronavirus appeared to be spreading widely through the community again.
“I personally think testing is overrated, even though I created the greatest testing machine in history,” Trump said, arguing that more tests means more confirmed cases. “In many ways, it makes us look bad.”
Let’s take these three claims — testing is overrated, Trump created the greatest testing machine of all time, and testing makes us look bad — one at a time.”
