GOP’s “next” presidential candidate shows us who scares the crap out of him

For years, Carlson has stoked racial anxieties and courted white supremacists on his Fox News show – and now, some are speculating he could pick up the pieces if Trump loses…

On the strength of his regular, sneering rants about the danger of immigrants and refugees, the New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has dubbed Carlson a “white supremacist sympathizer”. Her colleague Ilhan Omar prefers “racist fool”. The Nazi website Stormfront has called Carlson “literally our greatest ally”…

If Trump loses re-election in November, some Republicans now openly speculate, Carlson could swoop in to pick up the pieces by running in 2024.

If and when this smarmy bigot decides to be the GOP’s next “great white hope” they’ll be no shortage of chances to parse his fascist ideology. His only real differences with that fool currently in the White House are style points.

Oh…and have a Happy Bastille Day!

“Tucker Carlson addresses ex-staffer’s racist posts, says he will take ‘long-planned’ vacation”
“…At no point did Carlson ever describe his former top writer’s online comments, much less note that they had been racist and sexist. And at no point did he explain to viewers that Neff was actively posting such comments as recently as last week. As The New Republic’s Matt Ford observed, “Carlson [was] visibly less displeased with Neff … than he [was] with the reporters who exposed Neff.”
“Tucker Carlson announces ‘long-planned’ vacation from Fox News show after top writer fired for racist, sexist posts”
“…Other Fox News hosts have coincidentally also found themselves with scheduled time off in the middle of scandals, including Carlson himself last year after he claimed that white supremacy was a hoax. Laura Ingraham took a recess from “The Ingraham Angle” in March 2018 after mocking Parkland survivor David Hogg, while Bill O’Reilly left for some “R&R” in April 2017 after news broke of his $13 million settlement with five women who accused him of sexual harassment. He never returned to the air.”

“Tucker Carlson Returns From Vacation To Go To War With New York Times; No Mention Of Sexual Harassment Suit & Ex-Writer’s Racist Posts”
“On Monday night, Fox News host Tucker Carlson made a surprising accusation: The New York Times, he said, was trying to endanger him and his family by revealing where they live in an upcoming story. As he lambasted the newspaper on-air, Carlson suggested that his prime-time show could expose the home addresses of the reporter and Times editors.
Within hours, an army of conservative Twitter accounts started publicly posting the address and personal information of the reporter Carlson identified as the story’s writer. Many encouraged people to harass the reporter.
In a statement to The Washington Post, a spokesperson for the Times denied Carlson’s claims.
“While we do not confirm what may or may not publish in future editions, the Times has not and does not plan to expose any residence of Tucker Carlson’s, which Carlson was aware of before tonight’s broadcast,” the spokesperson said. The spokesperson declined to comment further when asked about the reporter’s doxing.”
Acting Deputy Homeland Security Secretary Ken Cuccinelli, tweeted Monday night that the Times was “clearly” trying to incite violent action against Carlson.–~A/YXBwaWQ9aGlnaGxhbmRlcjtzbT0xO3c9NjE4O2g9NDAw/

  3. FOXNews says:

Tucker Carlson on Wednesday rallied to the defense of vigilante kid Kyle Rittenhouse, who allegedly shot and killed two protesters in Kenosha, Wisc., on Tuesday night, telling his Fox News viewers that the 17-year-old merely “decided to maintain order when no one else would.”
Earlier on Wednesday, Rittenhouse was arrested in Illinois and charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the slaying of two people and the injuring of another during Tuesday night’s protest over the police shooting of Jacob Blake. The teenager—whose social-media profiles were rife with Blue Lives Matter content—reportedly traveled to Kenosha and co-mingled with other armed vigilantes looking to protect local businesses.
“Vigilante violence was always one of my greatest worries about the present moment,” tweeted Blake Hounshell, the editorial director for the politics website Politico. “And here we have a prominent TV host – a man who had the president’s ear – excusing it, rationalizing it.”
“He just justified murder,” added Nikole Hannah-Jones, the New York Times Magazine reporter who won a Pulitzer Prize for her work on the 1619 Project.
Max Boot, a conservative Washington Post columnist and CNN contributor, tweeted that Carlson was “inciting violence and abetting terrorism.”
Carlson is no stranger to being under fire and has been accused of making racist and inflammatory comments on air before.

  4. ...and then, poof! says:

(10/28/20): “Tucker Carlson Reports He Lost Only Copy of Documents That Nail Biden” (in case you’ve just emerged from a coma, the Trump campaign and its right-wing media messengers have devoted the final stretch of the election to insisting they had uncovered proof of deep corruption by the Biden family, along with demands that the mainstream media cover their allegations).
“Tucker Carlson Says He Had ‘Authentic, Damning’ New Hunter Biden Documents—But They Got Lost in the Mail”

    • Damaged goods says:

“The Fox News host Tucker Carlson has been mocked for his attempt to explain why he could not produce documents he had promised relating to Joe Biden, implying some kind of conspiracy.
On Thursday United Parcel Service (UPS) confirmed that it had indeed lost, and then found, the package in question.
It remains to be seen what the documents will contain. Carlson’s show has been one of the main conduits of conspiracy theories about Hunter Biden, attempting to expand the narrative about his dealings in Ukraine and China and castigating other media outlets for not paying enough attention to claims made recently in the New York Post.”
“Alleged Hunter Biden Emails Circulated in Ukraine as Rudy Giuliani Dug for Dirt There Last Year”
“Trump Had One Last Story to Sell. The Wall Street Journal Wouldn’t Buy It.”
“Fox News rejected Hunter Biden exposé; New York Post writer refused to put his name on it:” reports

    • Puzzling Evidence says:

“Tucker Carlson Suddenly Says It’s Time to Leave Hunter Biden Alone ” …Tucker also said that while UPS found the flash drive containing his “damning” Hunter Biden documents, he still believes that someone purposely tried to steal the docs.
By Thursday morning, despite the missing documents being found by shipping company UPS, Carlson continued to hint at malfeasance on the part of unnamed operatives who didn’t want the Biden documents to come out.
After admitting that he had made copies of the documents before they were shipped out, Carlson continued in his conspiratorial vein on Thursday night, questioning UPS’ explanation that the contents of the package—a flash drive containing documents—had been found on Monday night after suffering a rather mundane mishap in which they came out of the package.
“There are a lot of documents about Hunter Biden’s personal life that we haven’t brought to you and we are not going to and we will tell you why,” he said…

Interestingly enough, just a couple of hours before Carlson’s broadcast, NBC News reported that a 64-page dossier alleging a complex conspiracy involving Hunter Biden and China was actually authored by a fake persona. The fake intelligence document, which had been floating around the far-right web for a month before the New York Post published a controversial article echoing those conspiracy theories, was eventually disseminated by close associates of the president.
