NASA is finally ready to test-fire the engines of its SLS megarocket (Jan 13, 2021) https://www.space.com/nasa-sls-megarocket-ready-hot-fire-engine-test
According to Kathryn Lueders, Associate Administrator of NASA’s Human Exploration and Operations Mission Directorate, as of August 16, 2020 the Space Launch System (SLS) had been re-budgeted to $9.1 billion and ground systems to support the mission at a further $2.4 billion. As was pointed out by Ars Technica at the time, the new development cost represented a 33% increase in the cost of the mission. https://arstechnica.com/science/2020/08/nasa-just-announced-in-a-blog-post-that-sls-will-cost-30-more/

  2. Great & Powerful says:

Former President Trump on Friday said he “single-handedly” chose to move U.S. Space Command from Colorado to Alabama, contradicting months of insistence from the Pentagon that the new location was chosen after careful deliberation and was not political.
“I single-handedly said, ‘let’s go to Alabama,’ ” Trump said on the Alabama-based radio show “Rick and Bubba” ahead of a planned Saturday night rally in the state.

In the radio interview, Trump conflated the command — which oversees military missions in space for all armed services — with the new Space Force, a separate armed service for satellite troops.
Trump’s Jan. 13 decision to move the command, which was reestablished in Colorado Springs in 2019, remains under investigation by the Pentagon’s Inspector General and the Government Accountability Office.
Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado is the current provisional headquarters of the command until 2026. Congress has not yet allocated money to move the command and the Pentagon also has not moved forward on a relocation. https://gazette.com/military/trump-confirms-he-single-handedly-picked-alabama-for-space-command/article_23921d58-01e5-11ec-83fa-d3787024c258.html

  3. Revelation 12:7 says:

“The US military may soon declassify a secret space weapon : The primary goal US military leaders have is deterring attacks on its satellites.” https://arstechnica.com/science/2021/08/the-us-military-may-soon-declassify-a-secret-space-weapon/
“This new weapon announcement would come as US military officials have increasingly spoken of space as a “warfighting domain.” The Trump administration cited the militarization of space as a rationale for creating the Space Force, and it may be inevitable that space sees some form of conflict.”
“…Many military space leaders believe that Space Force and Space Command must publicly demonstrate to Moscow and Beijing not just an ability to take out any space-based counterspace systems they may be developing or deploying, but also to attack the satellites they, like the US, rely upon for communications, positioning, navigation and timing (PNT), and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR).” https://breakingdefense.com/2021/08/pentagon-posed-to-unveil-classified-space-weapon/
See also RAND’s corporation “Tailoring Deterrence for China in Space”, which “highlights the obstacles to success, and argues that DoD might need a “demonstration of capabilities that would compromise the PLA’s space systems, perhaps through enhanced U.S. cyber hacking, spoofing, jamming or other dazzling capabilities against China, but could also include kinetic options as well.” But, it warns, any such Space Force activities must be “carefully calibrated.” https://www.rand.org/pubs/research_reports/RRA943-1.html
