I grew up with that song. Last time I ever saw any of the family 78s, it was still in the collection. We all loved Bob Nolan. Always watched for him/and the Sons of the Pioneers in many a Roy Rogers movie.
Roy may have been a rightwing prick in his personal life; but, he did love fast cars. If memory serves me right, he was the first to break the 150mph barrier with a “production car” on the Bonneville Salt Flats. First edition of the Chrysler 300 as I remember it.
