Of course, Bridgeport, Connecticut made the list. The view of Bridgeport harbor is one of the ugliest harborviews of the American coastline. Which is saying something for (what was) an urban manufacturing center that was known as the Park City when I was born.
Most of those early years we had a phony Socialist mayor who wasn’t even up to the mediocre standards of what passes for Social Democrats in the GOUSA. Ol’ Jasper McLevy was elected and re-elected a kajillion times on a platform that wouldn’t have made a sensible moderate Republican blush.
We had lots of parks, the schools had damned good teachers IMHO (and experience). The air was tough to breathe some days in the industrial neighborhoods; but, you could usually find a job at GE, Remington Arms or Bridgeport Brass.
…I made a new Tik Tok account intending to get over to the right-wing side of the platform…The more I dug and the further I tailored my FYP, the more shocking the content became. Although I don’t think they have given it a name, I’m pretty sure I curated my Tik Tok feed to #DomesticTerroristTok.
It didn’t take long to find hundreds of videos where these Trumpers and so-called patriots were hanging black American flags…
According to the people on Tik Tok and the Sun (British tabloid), the black American flag originated in the civil war and was flown by the Confederates…It means that they will not surrender, will not take prisoners, and are willing to die for their cause. It means they will execute their enemies.
Who are their enemies? Pretty much any non-Conservative. You know, Democrats, Liberals, LGBTQ, BIPOC, and the vaccinated…They think that the Covid vaccine will change your DNA and turn you into something unhuman.
The LooneyTunes types ready to march for Trump and Bannon would be laughable if we didn’t have to worry about the violence some of these folks consider justified and legitimate.
The Pentagon’s former software chief said he quit because China has already won the tech war guaranteeing global dominance — with some US government systems mere “kindergarten level” in comparison.
Nicolas Chaillan, 37, told the Financial Times on Sunday…“We have no competing fighting chance against China in 15 to 20 years. Right now, it’s already a done deal; it is already over, in my opinion…”
Chaillan — who was the Pentagon’s first chief software officer — said China will dominate the future of the world by controlling everything from media narratives to geopolitics.
He claimed that the US, like Beijing, should have prioritized artificial intelligence, machine learning and cyber capabilities over traditional military spending like building new fighter jets.
“At this point, I am just tired of continuously chasing support and money to do my job,” he said of the pioneering Pentagon job that was “probably the most challenging and infuriating of my entire career.”
His analysis of our military bureaucracy, mated with a Congress stocked by its anachronistic 2-party game show, has next to no likelihood of positive reform.
