Trump’s White House Toilet Often Blocked by Torn-Up Documents that Failed to Flush

The revelation by Maggie Haberman, whose coverage as a New York Times White House correspondent was followed obsessively by Trump, adds a vivid new dimension to his lapses in preserving government documents. Axios was provided an exclusive first look at some of her reporting…

While President Trump was in office, staff in the White House residence periodically discovered wads of printed paper clogging a toilet — and believed the president had flushed pieces of paper…

The news of White House toilet-flushing comes as the National Archives has reportedly asked the Biden Justice Department to examine Trump’s handling of White House records, amid the congressional investigation into the Jan. 6 assault on the Capitol.

Just one more piece of historic corruption during the Trump Maladministration. Please just throw this creep into some slammer and let him decay with no sight or smell of him remaining in our government.

  1. Puzzling Evidence says:

White House telephone logs obtained by the House probe of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot show an hourslong gap in calls made to or from then-President Donald Trump at a crucial time period, NBC News reported.
Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., have both publicly disclosed that they spoke with Trump on the phone as the riot unfolded.
It is unknown whether the gap in the records is the result of Trump’s well-known use of his personal cell phone as president, or if the call logs are incomplete, NBC reported.

(June 2018): “Meet the guys who tape Trump’s papers back together : The president’s unofficial ‘filing system’ involves tearing up documents into pieces, even when they’re supposed to be preserved.”

(2/10/22): “Now we finally know why Trump complained about how hard it was to flush an American toilet. When Trump said, “People are flushing toilets 10 times, 15 times, as opposed to once,” it didn’t make a lot of sense. But then, most people aren’t flushing their conversations with Vladimir Putin.”

“A memory hole is any mechanism for the deliberate alteration or disappearance of inconvenient or embarrassing documents, photographs, transcripts or other records, such as from a website or other archive, particularly as part of an attempt to give the impression that something never happened. The concept was first popularized by George Orwell’s 1949 dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, where the Party’s Ministry of Truth systematically re-created all potentially embarrassing historical documents, in effect, re-writing all of history to match the often-changing state propaganda. These changes were complete and undetectable.”

    Exclusive photos: Trump’s telltale toilet
Maggie Haberman obtained the photos recently and shared them with Axios ahead of the Oct. 4 publication of her book, “Confidence Man: The Making of Donald Trump and the Breaking of America.”
The handwriting on the scraps of paper seen floating in two toilet bowels appears to be Trump’s, written in the Sharpie ink he favored.
If proven to show what Ms Haberman’s sources claim, the photos would provide further evidence that Mr Trump destroyed or attempted to destroy presidential records that he may have been legally required to preserve.
