FBI raids Trump’s Florida palace

Former President Donald J. Trump said on Monday that the F.B.I. had searched his Palm Beach, Fla., home and had broken open a safe — an account that, if accurate, would be a dramatic escalation in the various investigations into the former president.

The search, according to two people familiar with the investigation, appeared to be focused on material that Mr. Trump had brought with him to Mar-a-Lago, his private club and residence, after he left the White House. Those boxes contained many pages of classified documents, according to a person familiar with their contents…

Mr. Trump was known throughout his term to rip up official material that was intended to be held for government archives…

The reported search came at a time when the Justice Department has also been stepping up questioning of former Trump aides who had been witnesses to discussion and planning in the White House of Mr. Trump’s efforts to remain in office after his loss in the 2020 election.

Lardbrain still thinks that bluster and bullshit are sufficient to keep justice from knocking at the door of his criminal kingdom. Not anymore, man!

Arizona Republicans Choose White Nationalist Nutballs for their November Ticket

In primaries on August 2, Arizona Republicans selected the candidates to represent their party in November, and it is a ticket filled from top to bottom with dangerous extremists. Arizona Republicans have put forward one of the most radical and extreme slate of candidates in the country, many of whom have made white nationalist conspiracy theories and attacks on democracy the heart of their electoral message.

The late primary in this battleground state was a race to the bottom, with almost all the statewide candidates embracing the white nationalist lie that when non-white migrants make an asylum claim at the border it constitutes an “invasion” aimed at “replacing” white people in America. They go on to claim this “invasion” needs to be repelled with state-controlled military intervention. Now, Arizona Republicans are looking to further normalize this fiction. They ignore the fact that “invasion” rhetoric and “replacement theory” are conspiracy that have inspired multiple terrorist attacks. Many of these same candidates promote the lie that President Trump won Arizona in 2020 and was reelected President.

Losers choosing losers to advance demented causes meant for losers.
