“I didn’t do it because it would be easy. I didn’t do it to make more money. I did it to try to help humanity, whom I love,” Musk tweeted after stopping his court battle to get out of an agreement to buy Twitter. “I do so with humility, recognizing that failure in pursuing this goal, despite our best efforts, is a very real possibility.”
While I don’t trust the motives of any billionaires, Elon is at least amusing and he’s well overpaid for Twitter so his ‘doing it for love’ statement is plausible. However, the DNC scripted meltdown over free speech is hilarious. They have such a flimsy, disingenuous and unappealing platform that they feel that censoring their political opponents is the only way to get any traction, and the usual DNC captured media predictably trots out the usual illiberal twaddle. A far cry from the ACLU defending nazi’s right to speech. Cthulhu forbid that they actually tackle the issues with honesty and integrity. Instead we get culture war with both barrels and the idiocy of free speech being an existential threat.
