City of Columbus vs Trump

❝ A coalition of cities and individuals across America, represented by Democracy Forward, filed suit against President Trump and his Administration for intentionally and unconstitutionally sabotaging the Affordable Care Act (ACA), and increasing the cost of health coverage for American families. The President’s actions to undermine the ACA are not just detrimental to American families, they are a violation of the Constitution he swore to uphold.

The suit was filed on behalf of the cities of Columbus, Ohio, Baltimore, Maryland, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Chicago, Illinois, and citizens from Charlottesville, Virginia…

❝ The lawsuit seeks to hold the President accountable and force the Trump Administration to implement the law in good faith…

The suit was filed August 2 in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.

Trump has no interest in aiding citizens’ need for affordable healthcare. That includes a greater-than-average number of fools who voted for him, support his attacks on human kindness.

Trump’s flunky killed Net Neutrality. That’s not enough to satisfy the Fake President

The Trump administration has asked the US Supreme Court to vacate the 2016 court ruling that upheld the Obama-era net neutrality rules in a strategy that could help uphold the Federal Communications Commission’s recent repeal of those rules.

The rules themselves are no longer on the books, having been repealed by the FCC under Chairman Ajit Pai, Trump’s pick to lead the commission. But broadband industry lobby groups appealed to the US Supreme Court in September 2017 anyway, asking the nation’s highest court to rule that the Obama-era FCC exceeded its authority when it reclassified Internet providers in order to impose stricter regulations…

The Fake President is starting to lie about the lies he lied about before

❝ President Trump is running out of things to lie about, so now he’s getting around to lying about the lies he lied about before.

This was the inevitable result of his ever-increasing rate of lying. When you have blanketed the earth with an unbroken surface of lies, covering every subject, you have no choice but to start a second layer contradicting the first. This, of course, makes the proof of lying rather simple. All you need to do is place two contradictory Trump statements side by side, and one of them has to be a lie. Alas, it does not make the job of fact-checking any easier, as the accumulating sticky goo of lies atop lies makes penetration with a shovel problematic at best.

This, of course, is the point of nonstop lying.

The Republican Party has surpassed any previous lead the Democrats had in opportunism. From gerrymandered electoral districts to bald-faced lies [from their own spokespeople] defending the White House flavor of lies, they are committed to the Fake President as their last best chance to maintain control of our government. Sharing their allegiance between corporate greed and the bigotry and racism of “the base”.

Republican Congressman indicted for insider trading

Republican Congressman Collins and His Fearless LeaderThe Nation

❝ Five GOP House members bought shares of an Australian biotechnology company in January 2017 that’s at the center of an insider trading indictment of New York Republican Chris Collins, congressional financial disclosures show.

Collins, who represents a district in western New York, is the only lawmaker accused by prosecutors of wrongdoing — stemming from his role on Innate Immunotherapeutics Ltd.’s board, not his position in the House.

But the allegations against him, along with the other lawmakers’ holdings, highlight how members of Congress face few restrictions on their investments, creating the potential for conflicts of interest, or the appearance of a conflict…

❝ Collins, one of the biotechnology company’s largest shareholders who served on the board and had access to information that wasn’t public, is accused of tipping off his son about the trial results for a drug to treat a form of multiple sclerosis, according to federal prosecutors in New York. His son Cameron Collins then passed along the information to others. The son and others who received the tip sold more than 1.78 million shares in the days before the trial results were announced, avoiding losses of $768,000…

Trump provides apt leadership for the majority of creeps in government. As Mark Twain said, “It could probably be shown by facts and figures that there is no distinctly native American criminal class except Congress”.
