It’s been one week since a pro-Trump mob stormed the U.S. Capitol, and security looks very different now than it did on that deadly day.

Hundreds of armed National Guard members were inside the halls of Congress amid reports of expected violence leading up to President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration on Jan. 20.

As lawmakers debated and voted on an article of impeachment against President Donald Trump, battle-ready National Guard troops were camped out amongst the artwork in the Capitol Rotunda, as well as in the Capitol Visitor Center. Many spent the night huddled together sleeping on the marble floors of the building.

Our primo researcher brought together a number of articles which – taken together – interweave a truly informative dialectic of journalism. As a nation, we have only seen the beginning of a ostensibly populist gang which would love to find itself in the style of putsch so beloved of Nazis in the 1930’s.

This article from HuffPost is already slightly out of date. Published number for National Guards by Inauguration Day is now up to 20,000. The FBI, NSA, local coppers have pretty much admitted their dance card was empty from listening to the wrong music. They thought they knew everything about the insurrection. They were wrong. The racism of American policing from bottom to top is still THEIR biggest problem.
