Women murder two children to rid them of evil spirits

fear the teabag

Two women who police say killed two children while performing what they thought was an exorcism have been held without bond as prosecutors in Maryland seek a psychiatric evaluation to determine whether they are mentally fit to stand trial.

Zakieya Avery, 28, and Monifa Sanford, 21, have told investigators that they believed evil spirits moved successively between the bodies of the children, aged one and two, and that an exorcism was needed to drive the demons out…

After the attempted exorcism, they showered, cleaned up the scene and “prepared the children to see God“. The children’s two older siblings, a five-year-old girl and an eight-year-old boy, were also found injured with stab wounds at the house in Germantown.

Avery is the mother of all four children. The girl remains in critical condition but the boy was being prepared for release from hospital on Tuesday afternoon. They might have died had a neighbour not called emergency services to the scene, police said…

Avery and Sanford appeared before a court via video conference…on charges of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. The women identified themselves to investigators as members of a group known as the “demon assassins”…police want to interview other people who might be part of the same organisation…

Throw away the key!

Cripes, I really tire of nutballs who say they believe in honor and love – and then kill children to “protect” them from some mythical evil spirit.

Pastor kills fiancee’s daughter to indulge his necrophilia – WTF?

The pastor, ex-convict John D. White…confessed to killing Rebekah Gay to fulfill a fantasy of necrophilia, police said Friday. White drank four or five beers before going to the woman’s mobile home and repeatedly striking her head with a mallet and strangling her with a zip tie, according to court documents.

Police said White stripped her dead body but does not remember if he carried out his sexual fantasy. After dumping the body early Wednesday, he returned to Gay’s home and dressed her 3-year-old son in his Halloween costume, then later dropped him off with the boy’s father…

“He kept saying he’s a bad person, he’s a pastor, he felt bad for the people in his church. … I don’t recall him bring real remorseful at all with regard to the victim or anything else,” Isabella County Sheriff Leo Mioduszewski told The Associated Press.

“He just basically said he was attracted to her, thought she was a very cute girl. It’s a crazy, tragic situation,” the sheriff added…

White was engaged to Gay’s mother and regularly watched her young son while she worked, said Donna Houghton, a church elder who had a role in hiring White three years ago to be pastor at Christ Community Fellowship. Church members, she said, were “absolutely floored” by the allegations.

Houghton said the congregation was aware of White’s criminal past when he joined the church. He was released from prison in 2007, after serving nearly 12 years for manslaughter in the death of a 26-year-old woman in Kalamazoo County, according to the Michigan Corrections Department.

He had previously been sentenced to probation for choking and stabbing a 17-year-old Battle Creek girl in 1981.

Members of his congregation say that Satan got to him. Looks to me like he never truly overcame the particularly nasty impulses that put him in the slammer a couple times previously.

“The devil made me do it” has never been a satisfactory excuse in my life and times.

Nutball Catholics in Poland say Demon energy drink glorifies Satan

Furious with the drink’s arrival on the Polish market one website, entitled Satanism Shall Not Pass, said that its advertising campaign will lead to “billboards dripping with Satanism”, and has added its voice to calls for a boycott of all products made by Agros-Nova, the drink’s producer.

Demon…was “promoting evil, atrocities and the destruction of human souls.” Franciszek Kucharczak, editor of the Gosc Niedzielny, a respected religious magazine warned: “We have to fight against evil. We cannot keep quiet and let young people be absorbed into destructive ideals.”

Opponents of Demon have taken particular umbrage at the choice of Adam Darski, former lead singer of the Polish death-metal group Behemoth, to front the campaign. Mr Darski, who goes by the stage name Nergal, has long been the target of conservative, religious vitriol since he was accused in 2007 of insulting religious sentiment by tearing up a Bible on stage…

…Mr Darski, who survived cancer, said he would donate some of his fee for campaign to a leukaemia charity.

“I’ve never been much of a fan of such drinks but I love the idea behind it: the whole campaign has strong links to the cancer charity that found a bone marrow donor for myself,” said the singer on his website.

I love busting the chops of sectarian bigots who think the whole of society should obey the laws of their religion. I’m not a fan of energy drinks, either – other than my morning coffee – but, I have no problem supporting their entry into the marketplace. Especially if they poke fun at 14th Century ideology.

Yoga and Harry Potter are evil, says Pope’s champion exorcist

For most people it is a way of toning the limbs and soothing the stresses of everyday life, but the Catholic Church’s best-known exorcist says yoga is evil.

Father Gabriele Amorth, who for years was the Vatican’s chief exorcist and claims to have cleansed hundreds of people of evil spirits, said yoga is Satanic because it leads to a worship of Hinduism and “all eastern religions are based on a false belief in reincarnation”.

Reading JK Rowling’s Harry Potter books is no less dangerous, said the 86-year-old priest, who is the honorary president for life of the International Association of Exorcists, which he founded in 1990, and whose favourite film is the 1973 horror classic, The Exorcist…

“Practising yoga is Satanic, it leads to evil just like reading Harry Potter,” he told a film festival in Umbria this week, where he was invited to introduce The Rite, a film about exorcism starring Sir Anthony Hopkins as a Jesuit priest.

“In Harry Potter the Devil acts in a crafty and covert manner, under the guise of extraordinary powers, magic spells and curses,” said the priest, who in 1986 was appointed the chief exorcist for the Diocese of Rome…

Father Amorth has previously said that people who are possessed by Satan vomit shards of glass and pieces of iron and have such superhuman strength that even children have to be held down by up to four people.

He has also claimed that the sex abuse scandals which have engulfed the Catholic Church in the US, Ireland, Germany and other countries was proof that the Anti-Christ is waging a war against the Holy See.

Being caught at criminal behavior apparently is just a result of the anti-christ plot. Uh-huh.

RTFA for more superstitious silliness.
