Trump sent Federal Cops to “show locals how to handle protesters” – They shot one in the head.

LaBella “a threat” by holding speaker so folks could hear speeches

Federal law enforcement shot and severely injured a protester Saturday night during demonstrations in front of the federal courthouse in downtown Portland.

Donavan LaBella, 26, was shot in the head by what friends and witnesses said was an impact munition.

Videos of the incident posted online brought swift condemnation from some local leaders, including both of Oregon’s U.S. Senators, who demanded answers from the federal government, and City Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty, who asked that federal troops leave Portland immediately…

Desiree LaBella, Donavan’s mother, said he suffered facial and skull fractures…“He was awake enough to give the OK to talk to me,” she said. “He’s had some facial reconstruction surgery…”

Desiree LaBella said she planned to contact an attorney Monday for a possible lawsuit on behalf of her son. She spoke to her son via computer late Sunday morning and said that while he was awake, doctors were monitoring his neurological condition and continuing work to drain blood from his brain.

Sounds like everything the Fake President would approve of…attacking non-violent protestors, putting one in hospital with a fractured skull.

I wonder when they start wearing the armbands.

San Francisco coppers can’t be sued for shooting unarmed woman

The Supreme Court says police are immune from a lawsuit arising from the arrest and shooting of a mentally ill woman in San Francisco.

The justices ruled that police did not violate the rights of Teresa Sheehan when they forced their way into her room at a group home and shot her five times after she came at them with a knife.

The officers had been called to take Sheehan for an emergency psychiatric evaluation after she threatened a case worker, but the situation quickly escalated.

Sheehan, then 56, was shot in the hip and the head. She survived, but had to undergo two hip replacement operations.

The high court, which heard oral arguments in the case in March, on Monday left undecided the question of whether police should take special precautions when arresting armed and violent people suffering from mental illness.

Sheehan claimed police must make reasonable accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act for suspects with mental illnesses.

The court said it would not take up that question because it had not been fully considered by lower courts.

Is there any way someone might stage a confrontation between these shit-for-brains justices and the average copper, say, in Oakland?

Could be a potential learning opportunity for a few elitist arch-conservative know-nothings. I’d gladly pop for the cleaning bill after they crap their Heidi Whities.

Colorado town considering drone hunting licenses

The farming and ranching town of Deer Trail, Colorado, which boasts that it held the world’s first rodeo in 1869, is now considering starting a 21st century tradition – paying bounties to anyone who shoots down an unmanned drone.

Next month, trustees of the town of 600 that lies on the high plains 55 miles east of Denver will debate an ordinance that would allow residents to purchase a $25 hunting license to shoot down “unmanned aerial vehicles.”

Similar to the bounties governments once paid to hunters who killed animals that preyed on livestock, but only after they produced the ears, the town would pay $100 to anyone who can produce the fuselage and tail of a downed drone.

“Either the nose or tail may be damaged, but not both,” the proposal notes.

The measure was crafted by resident Phillip Steel, a 48-year-old Army veteran with a master’s degree in business administration, who acknowledges the whimsical nature of his proposal…

“We don’t want to become a surveillance society,” he told Reuters in a telephone interview.

He said he has not seen any drones, but that “some local ranchers” outside the town limits have seen them.

Under the proposal, hunters could legally shoot down a drone flying under 1,000 feet with a 12-gauge or smaller shotgun.

The town also would be required to establish a drone “recognition program” for shooters to properly identify the targeted aircraft…

The Feds haven’t commented, yet. No doubt the NRA, Republicans and the Tea Party will campaign for the proposal.

Missouri coppers “kill” cement alligator

Buy the mold and make lots of ’em for your yard

Police in a suburb in the state of Missouri recently encountered one tough alligator — or so they thought.

Officers in Independence, a Kansas City suburb, responded to a call on a Saturday evening about a large alligator lurking on the embankment of a pond, police spokesman Tom Gentry said.

An officer called a state conservation agent, who advised him to shoot the alligator because there was little that conservation officials could do at that time, Gentry said.

As instructed an officer shot the alligator, not once but twice, but both times the bullets bounced off — because the alligator was made of cement…

Gentry acknowledged the incident is drawing a lot of attention.

“In hindsight, it’s humorous,” he said. “But we have to take every call seriously.”

You could chuck a rock at the “critter” if no one’s seen it move in a day or two – before you open fire.

Any idea where the ricochet went?

Police seize blogger’s guns after he endorses Tuscon shootings

After being notified of Arlington resident Travis Corcoran’s controversial blog post in which he implied members of Congress ought to be shot, the Arlington Police Department (APD) has placed a suspension on his license to carry firearms and seized all of his weapons.

Corcoran wrote and uploaded a post to his blog…following the Jan. 8 shooting of United States Rep. Gabrielle Giffords in Tuscan titled “1 down, 534 to go,” suggesting the other 534 members of Congress should be next. In an interview with the Advocate after the post gained wide attention on the Internet but before police became involved, Corcoran compared his post to a joke made among a group of friends in a casual setting.

APD Capt. Robert Bongiorno said the department took his statements made in the blog as a credible threat and took precautionary measures. The weapons were seized Jan. 13.

“Officers took a large amount of weapons and ammunition. Currently, we are working with federal law enforcement partners and the case remains an active and open investigation,” he said.

An “About TJIC” section of the blog suggested Corcoran may have owned around 10 guns. His license was issued out of Arlington.

Dipshit!

He tried to back away from the reaction to his crass idiocy – round one – by advising “while you are in the process of assassinating those 534 political leaders, it is important to aim very carefully so that you do not kill random people around them, as that would be wrong”.

Now, he says, he was just joking – just like you would among close friends.

Shootout – Australian style

Two Australian men have been treated in hospital after they decided to shoot each other with an air rifle “to see if it would hurt”.

The men, both aged 34, underwent surgery to remove slug pellets from their bums and legs.

They had been drinking for several hours when they hit upon the plan to shoot each other for fun. They then took turns firing the air rifle at each others’ body parts.

The following day, both men found themselves in severe pain, and went to hospital, where doctors had to remove several slug pellets from their buttocks and thighs…

”They have admitted that it was just stupidity and they wanted to see if it was painful or not.” The friends could face criminal charges over the incident and one of the men involved has had his firearms license confiscated.

Australian men have a habit of doing dangerous things in the name of having a good time.

Earlier this year an Australian man was admitted to hospital after he contracted a rare and deadly disease from eating two slugs as part of a dare.

There’s a comment in here somewhere about maturity, growing up vs. stupidity and inebriation.

I don’t think Aussies have the market cornered on this sort of silliness. But, it gives me a chance to bust balls on one of my fellow blog editors down in Melbourne.

Troops use live ammo instead of blanks for “How to -“

Seventeen people, including a child left in a critical condition, were injured when soldiers fired live bullets instead of blanks during an open day display in Carcassone, France.

Fifteen civilians and two soldiers were injured in the incident, of which the details remained unclear, involving a demonstration by members of a marines parachute regiment of hostage liberation exercises, the regional authority said.

Four of the 17 were seriously injured, with two described as critical following “incomprehensible” scenes at the barracks near Carcassone, in the country’s south-west.

According to local authorities, five children were among the injured.

This is more than an “Oops!”. Combat weapons used on the audience during an exercise require a major screwup.
