Some States Want to Eliminate ALL Childhood Vaccinations

Georgia, David R. Kotok, Cumberland Advisors, January 30, 2022

Vaccinations requirements for school attendance have protected kids for generations. But some Georgia politicians recently appeared ready to scrap all that. Georgia Senate Bill 345, as submitted, would prohibit “vaccine passports,” or vaccine requirements of all kinds, for all facilities and services whatsoever, including schools…

Twitter lit up with responses, including this one, because apparently, people do not want to be drop-kicked back into a time when there weren’t vaccines and mandates and life expectancies, decades shorter, reflected that.

No Georgia children died of smallpox last year, either…

Zero Georgia children went blind from measles last year, though there were three cases of measles reported in the state as recently as 2019. That highly contagious disease (more contagious than Omicron) will surge again should vaccination rates languish…

No one in Georgia died last year of whooping cough (pertussis), either, though that virus continues to circulate in the US at a level held in check only by required vaccinations…

No vaccinated children in Georgia have died of Covid, though the state has lost 25 children so far to the disease…

Dear readers: Georgia is not the only state churning out laws to block vaccine requirements, but this proposed legislation is such a stark instance of ill-advised, deadly foolish lawmaking that we wanted to bring it to your attention.

This was emailed to thoughtful people all round the United States, this Sunday morning, by David Kotok. A well-known and respected economist, investment analyst and advisor. And a public-spirited Citizen.

It was forwarded to me via the daily newsletter I receive from Barry Ritholtz. He’s in the same trade as Mr. Kotok. Equally talented as economist and analyst, at least as public spirited…which is why I subscribe to his newsletter.

I’ve mentioned bits of my life experience before…growing up in a New England factory town before vaccines were generally mandated for schoolchildren. Federal guidelines were accepted in Connecticut when I was still in elementary school in the 1940’s. My peers and I were vaccinated against diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus and smallpox.

In truth, today, reading this note from David Kotok included in Barry’s newsletter…I remembered my friend, Nick, who died of diphtheria. The last unvaccinated kid in the neighborhood. Although the vaccines I noted were mandated, his parents had him exempted on religious grounds. So, Nick never got to grow up beyond 5th grade. He loved reading and we shared books from the neighborhood Burroughs Library. I missed him for a long time.

I don’t understand the equivalence of a polio or smallpox vaccine, which address pathogens that are absolutely a threat to healthy children, with the covid vaccine which addresses a pathogen that is of absolutely no threat to healthy children. This seems to be just more gaslighting for culture war purposes.

In Australia, only one child has died with covid. I say WITH covid as the stats here don’t make the distinction between died OF covid or died WITH covid. Better to keep the public frightened and compliant that way.

It makes total sense to vaccinate unhealthy children. Given the risk of vaccine injury it makes no sense to mandate covid vaccines for children.

Before you get your glasses all steamed up, I do take the point of the idiocy of not mandating vaccines that address pathogens that are both highly contagious AND highly dangerous, but covid aint that pathogen.

What, pray tell, does medical science in Oz consider to be the “risk of vaccine injury”? Not just the name of it…statistical likelihood of injury? In the GOUSA, these numbers are in the 10/thousandth of a percent.

      • Mark says:

Depends on who you ask. 1 in 50000 to 1 in 20000 is a safe bet.

Or none at all if you rely on corporate media. *Brought to you by Pfizer!*

Just worth a chuckle to me to see how people assign priorities. Regardless what the real odds are. Just checked – and I realize probably higher here than there – but, the lifetime odds of being killed in the GOUSA being a pedestrian crossing the street are 1 in 543. So, do you spend the rest of your life on 1 block amd don’t risk crossing the street.

Or do you try to be careful and pay attention whilst crossing the road. I mean one of the oldest jokes in American humor is “Why does a chicken cross the road?” Answer? To get to the other side.

          • Mark says:

Yes but why cross the street when you don’t need to.

A kid is more likely to be killed in an accident on the way to be vaccinated than to end up in hospital with covid. Why risk rolling snake eyes just for the sake of compliance.

My real worry is that its not just mindless bureaucratic compliance driving this, but market forces in collusion with government.

          • eideard says:

Unless you’re hermits like Helen & me…or too lazy to walk anywhere…or (interesting) living the rural life, you will be crossing a few streets every day.

We double up…hermits and rural. Actually, Helen’s exercise walking is through our community; so, she crosses many streets. My exercise walking is our fenceline; so, I cross NO streets.

I should qualify the above stat. It varies greatly with age. The ‘sweet’ spot for Pfizer and Moderna is young men up to about age 30. Moderna has a higher incidence in this cohort. presumably because the dosage is higher than Pfizer.

Interesting paper recently suggesting a much higher risk of vaccine harm for those who have already (recently?) had covid, particularly in the above cohort. I wish I could find the fucking thing.

  3. Footnote says:

Thanks to the success of vaccination, the last natural outbreak of smallpox in the United States occurred in 1949. In 1980, the World Health Assembly declared smallpox eradicated (eliminated), and no cases of naturally occurring smallpox have happened since.
The Nearly Extinct Polio Virus Just Resurfaced in Africa
Africa was declared free of indigenous wild polio in August 2020 after eliminating all forms of wild polio from the region. The recently discovered strain is linked to the one that has been circulating in Sindh Province in Pakistan. Polio remains endemic in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
“As long as wild polio exists anywhere in the world all countries remain at risk of importation of the virus,” said Dr Matshidiso Moeti, World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Director for Africa.
